Consolidation in the digital MF marketplace?

So - according to a PDN article ([link])

Phase One and Leaf are merging, and striking a licensing deal with Kodak.

I am looking at this with some trepidation, as a merger between the two biggest competitors in the market, rarely results in lower prices and increased quality... only decreased competition.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong.

I guess, given how much film I still shoot, there is time for things to suss out as they will anyway. But still. I don't like it. No sir.

I really really hope my lab doesn't go under. I have no desire to do my own C41 120 and 4x5 processing.

hah - if you say so. Mostly it seems to ensure that I'm drunk, depressed, and photographing trash off the streets (but beautifully).
